|Michael P. DeBaggis, Jr.|
Mike joined the Prudential Insurance Company in Boston in 1975, as a management intern in the Group Department. After a very successful career with extensive experience in large case underwriting and marketing, he left the security of a large company to become an entrepreneur when he joined Professional Pensions, Inc. (PPI) in 1983 as Director of Sales. PPI provided retirement and employee benefit plans to not-for-profit employers in the Northeast.
He spurred the company’s growth from a small niche marketer to a formidable regional powerhouse. In 1999 as President and CEO, Mike engineered the acquisition of PPI by Principal Financial Group, the nation’s leading 401(k) provider. PPI became PFG Middletown, the not-for-profit solution for Principal Financial Group and they successfully spread their products and services to not-for-profit organizations across the country.
Mike and his wife Jo Ann reside in Westbrook, Connecticut. They have four married daughters, four granddaughters, and two grandsons.
